Let 48-X = Z
As X is 6 less than Y, Let Y = X+6

X is 12 more than Z
X=Z%2B12
Substitute 48-X for Z
X=48-X%2B12
Add 48 and 12
X=60-X
Add X to both sides
2X=60
Divide both sides by 2
X=30
48-X=Z
48-30=Z
18=Z

X+6=Y
30+6=Y
36=Y
