3x-4(2x-3) > 5-(4-7x) get rid of parens
3x-8x+12>5-4+7x subtract 12 and also 7x from both sides
3x-8x+12-12-7x>5-4+7x-7x-12 collect like terms
-12x>-11 divide both sides by -12 (inequality sign reverses)
x<11/12
