You can put this solution on YOUR website! Today must be January 1st. I'm going to call "today" january year 2 to make it simpler.
On December 30 year 1, sandy was 26.
On December 31 year 1, sandy turned 27.
Today is January 1 year 2.
On December 31 year 2, sandy will turn 28.
On December 31 year 3, which is next year, sandy will turn 29
