Question 861658:
-71 times a number minus 100 is equal to 24 less than a number. What is the number?
I figure the formula must be something like:
Let z = unknown number
-71z -100 = 24 - z???
But I'm not sure. I would appreciate any help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"24 less than a number" = z - 24

-71z - 100 = z - 24
-72z = 76
z = -19/18
