Question 860990: Please help me. I keep coming up with the same answers, but they are not correct and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Suppose that A and B are two events for which P(A) = 0.2, P(B) = 0.72, and P(B|A) = 0.48 Find each of the following. Use 4 decimal places.
P(A and B) =
I keep coming up with .144 by multiplying .2*.72. I've also tried adding, but it still isn't correct. I'm thinking that this is why I'm having trouble with the other two parts of this problem (below).
P(A or B) =
I came up with .7660 using (A and B) = .144
P(A|B) =
I came up with .720 using the above answers.
