but distance traveled by both is same
let jeff take t hours to reach the point of catchup
his distance is 5t
His wife leaves 1/2 hour later. so she takes (t-1/2) hour
d= 8 * (t-1/2)
8(t-1/2) = 5t
8(2t-1)/2=5t
4(2t-1)=5t
10t-4=5t
10t-5t=4
5t=4
t=4/5 hours
4/5 * 5 = 4 miles
Joan rate =8 mph
d=4
Joan time = 1/2 hour
she will catch up at 8.00 am
