Question 860521: In a regular polygon, the apothem measures 3 in. Each side of the same regular polygon measures 6 in.
a)Find the perimeter of the regular polygon.
b)Find the length of radius for this polygon.
It'll be fine if you could just tell me how many sides the polygon has. Answer by ben720(159) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If the apothem is exactly half of the side length, then the apothem, which is the center to the midpoint of the side, is exactly the distance from said midpoint to the nearest corner. Therefore, the triangle formed by the center, midpoint, and corner is an isosceles right, with a 45° at the corner. Two 45°s make a right angle, and so the figure is a square.
