Question 859870: Two cars start at the same point. One car going 40mph and the other going 55mph. How long before the cars are 5 miles apart. Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Not enough information.
We have no idea in which direction either car is going.
Are they going opposite directions? The same direction? perpendicular directions?
Your response stated that they are going in the same direction.
The faster car is going 15 mph faster than the slower car.
so in 20 minutes (1/3*15) will have gone 5 miles further.
