Let number of pennies be x
Then number of nickels = x
Number of dimes = x
Total value = x + 5*x + 10*x (since each nickel is 5c and dime is 10c, penny is 1c)
Total value = 16*x = 624
x = 624 / 16 = 39
Number of pennies = 39
