Hi,

Graph

y = 2x+6  P(0,6) and P(-3,0) on line.  Plot and connect with a line

y = -(5/4)x + 11/4  P(0, 2.75) and P(4,-2.5) on line.  Plot and connect with a line

Intersect at (-1,4),  x = -1 and y = 4,     x + y = 3
