consecutive even integers: (x-2), x, (x+2)
(x-2)(x) = x+2 + 38
x^2 - 2x = x + 40
x^2 - 3x - 40 = 0
(x - 8)(x + 5) = 0
x = 8 or x = -5
x has to be even, so the integers are 6, 8, and 10.
