You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write an equation in slope intercept form, y = mx + b, of the line that has a slope of –1/2, and contains the point, (8,1)
***
y=-x/2+b
solve for b using given points on the line (8,1)
1=-8/2+b
b=5
equation:
y=-x/2+5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m= - 1/ 2

Plug value of the slope and point ( 8 , 1 ) in
Y = m x + b
1.00 = - 1/2 * 8 + b
1.00 = -4 + b
b= 1 + 4
b= 5
So the equation will be
Y = - 1/2 x + 5
