5-2 < -3y < 14-2 ...
Subtract 2 from all sides.
3 < -3y < 10
3/(-3) > y > 10/(-3) ...
Divide all sides by -3. See Note below
-1 > y > -10/3
-10/3 < y < -1
Note: dividing all sides by a negative number will flip the inequality signs.
