You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A car company orders windscreens from a supplier whose quality control procedures eliminate all damaged and distorted windscreens. However, from previous experience the car company knows that 0.6% of the windscreens it receives are too small to fit onto the cars it manufactures, whilst 1% are too large. What is the expected number of rejected windscreens in a batch of 300?
----------------------------------------
Percent rejected: 0.6 + 1% = 1.6%
------------------
Expected number of rejects = 1.6%*300 = 1.6/100 *300 = 1.6*3 = 4.8
