Hi,

2(x-y)=4

 3x+y=10   

 2x-2y=4

 3x+y=10  Multiplying 2nd EQ by 2 and adding to 1st to eliminate y

  8x = 24

   x = 3 and y = 10-3x = 1 

(3,1) the solution to this system of equations

CHECKING our answer***

 2x-2y=4

 2•3 - 2•1 = 4
