You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let's first find a common denominator. What number do both 8 and 6 go into? Let's use 24.
5%2F8or15%2F24 of the figures are cranes.
The remainder is 9%2F24 [24%2F24-15%2F24], reduced to 3%2F8
1%2F6of3%2F8 are frogs. [1/6 of the remainder are frogs.]
Therefore, 5%2F6of the remainder3%2F8 are grasshoppers.
Multiply across - 5%2F6*3%2F8=15%2F48
Can that be reduced? Yes, 3 goes into both numerator and denominator. 5%2F16
