Question 853513: Jason bought a horse that can run 94,080 furlongs per fortnight. He named it Lightning. Steven bought a horse that can run 3.24 rods per second. He named it Beast.
Jason and Steven are going to race the horses on a 1.3 mile track.
You want to predict the winner. Using the given speeds above, how many miles per hour does each horse run? You also want to predict the number of seconds the winning horse will finish ahead of the losing horse.
After researching, I know that 1 furlong equals 40 rods, 1 rod equals 16.5 feet, 1 furlong equals 660 feet, and 1 fortnight equals 14 days.
I know Lightning can run 35 miles per hour.
** Any help is greatly appreciated.**

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You said, you know Lightening goes 35 miles per hour, but where is your feet to mile equivalence? 5280 feet = 1 mile.

Rechecking Lightening's speed:

YES, 35 miles per hour.

IF you could understand THAT conversion, then you should be well able to do the other two conversions.

Beast,
...

Attach the proper chain of conversion ratios to obtain the units you want.
