v Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! c/d + 2
Rewrite as the sum of two fractions:
(c/d) + (2/1)
The denominators are not the same so you cannot add the fractions.
Find a least common denominator for the two fractions.
The least common denominator (lcm) is d*1=d
--------
Rewrite each fraction with the lcm as its denominator:
(c/d) + (2d/d)
--------
Since the denominators are now the same you can add the fractions:
(c+2d)/d
