Question 850675: One pipe can fill a pool 2 times faster than a second pipe.when both pipes are opened,they fill the pool in ten hours.how long would it take to fill the pool if only the slower pipe is used? Answer by hamsanash1981@gmail.com(151) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let the time taken by slower pipe be x and faster pipe will be x/2
time taken By faster pipe in one hour = 2/x and slower pipe = 1/x and by both = 1/10
2/x+1/x = 1/10
(1+2)/x = 1/10
3= x/10
x = 30
The time taken by slower pipe is 30 hours
