You can put this solution on YOUR website!
After buying the magazine he had 5/6=6/6-1/6 of his savings left.
He spent 2/5(5/6)=2/6 on a book
so far he has spent 1/6 + 2/6 =3/6 or 1/2
So he still has 1/2 left.
Let's take an example
You used %30
he spent 5 dollars or 1/6 on the magazine
he has 25 dollars left
he spent 2/5*25=10
So he has spent 5+10=15
15/30=1/2
so he has 1/2 or $15 dollars left.
