Question 849875: I don't understand what to do with the extra 192, please help! 1162$ dollars were raised, it costs 4 dollars per child ticket and 7 dollars per adult ticket, there were 192 people attending. I thought you would do 3x+4y=1162, but I am confused on whether or not to distribute the 192.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm confused how you got your equation.
If C is the number of child tickets and A is the number of adult tickets.
A%2BC=192
and
4C%2B7A=1162
Now you have two equations with two unknowns.
Repost if you still need help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
then you would do:
x+y=192
so it would look like this:
3x+4y=1162
x+ y=192
