Question 848462: y=3x-1/x+2
Does this equation define y as a function of x?

I see that there is one value for y and one for x. I would say that it is a function since y only has one value. If y had more than one value then it would not be a function of x. I was wondering if i was right or i think i might have it backwords. ANy help would be nice. Thank you all very much.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are asking the right questions.
How do you know that there is only one y for each x?
y is never 3 and x can't be -2
