The easiest way to factor this is by first rewriting into standard form:

-x^2 + 8x + 9

Next, factor out the negative from the expression, which will make this even easier to factor:

-(x^2 - 8x - 9)

Now, we can easily factor the expression inside the parenthesis:

-(x - 9)(x + 1)
