So far what I've done is multiplied 4 x .25 which equals $1.00. I'm stuck on the second part, "twice as many nickels as quarters" I don't know what to multiply.

q = how many quarters
n = how many nickels
d = how many dimes

1 quarter = 0.25 dollar
1 nickel = 0.05 dollar
1 dime = 0.10 dollar


FORMING EQUATIONS
Thirty-four coints in bank, q%2Bn%2Bd=34;
Four quarters, q=4;
Twice as many nickels as quarters, n%2Fq=2;

Those equations are now enough for solving for n and d.
The value of q is already given, so you will quickly obtain TWO equations in TWO unknowns.

Number of quarters:  4

Number of nickels:   2(4), or 8 ----- Twice as many nickels as quarters

Number of dimes:     34 - (4 + 8), or 34 - 12
