Question 84197: how do you solve:
e^-x = 0.5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
e%5E%28-x%29=0.5
Take the natural log of both sides:
ln%28e%5E%28-x%29%29=ln%280.5%29
Using exponent log property:
-xln%28e%29=ln%280.5%29
Since ln(e)=1, you can simplify:
-x=ln%280.5%29
highlight%28x=-ln%280.5%29%29
Good Luck,
