Pete earned $40 a day.
Jesse earned 50 a day.
Pete worked five more days than Jesse.
How many days did Jesse work? How many days did Pete

Let t = no. of days worked by Jesse'
Pete worked 5 more than Jesse, therefore:
(t+5) = no. days worked by Pete

J's earnings = P's earnings
50t + 40(t+5)
50t - 40t + 200
50t - 40t = 200
10t = 200
t = 200/10
t = 20 days worked by Jesse
and obviously
25 days worked by Pete
