1.2x-y=8
2.+4x%2B3y=36+
Multiply eq. 1 by 2 and subtract from eq. 2,
4x-2y-4x-3y=16-36
-5y=-20
y=4
Then use either equation to solve for x.
2x-4=8
2x=12
x=6
