Question 841185: 6+2x+6+2x=6(2x)
I don't understand in which order to do this.
I know how add and subtract (of course) but I cannot receive the correct answer when I check it.
I tried adding 2x+2x =4x, then to the 6+6=12 . Then to 6x2x= 12x subtracting 4x=8x, but then I got stuck on the remaining which is 12÷ 8? Then is it a fraction or...?
Help! Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6%2B2x%2B6%2B2x=6%282x%29

4x%2B12=6%282x%29

4x%2B12=12x

12=12x-4x

12=8x

12%2F8=x

3%2F2=x

x+=+3%2F2

Note: answer as a decimal is x+=+1.5
