Question 841124: a person bought 4 adult tickets and 2 children tickets and spent $80.00. How much did the tickets cost for adult and children? Please show your work while working towards your solution.
My equation is 4a + 2c = $80.00... then I solve for each one.
4a + 2c = $80.00 so…. Need to get s by itself so subtract 2c
4a = $80.00 – 2c… then divide by 4
a = $80.00/4 – 2c/4… then simplify
a = $20.00 – 1/2c
2c = $80.00 – 4a
C = $80.00/2 – 4a/2
C = $40.00 -2a
I don't know where to go from here. I believe my answers are 15 and 10 but how do I show that
You can put this solution on YOUR website! There is not enough info to get one answer.
4a + 2c = 80
If c=$0 then a=$20
If a=$0 then c=$40
$15=a and $10 =c is a nice choice but it isn't the only one.
A = n and C = 40-2n
a=1 c=38
a=2 c=36
a=3 c=34
a=13 c=14
a=14 c=12
a=15 c=10 your choice
a=16 c=8
a=17 c=6
a=18 c=4
