Given Jared can do a work 3 times as fast as Kevin then, Jared = 3 * Kevin --- 1.
Together they can do the same work in 1 hour.
Jared + Kevin = 1
3 kevin + Kevin = 1
4 kevin = 1
Kevin = 1/4
therefore Kevin can do the work in 4 hours
When Kevin = 1/4,
the Jared = 3 * Kevin
Jared = 3 * 1/4
Jared = 3/4
therefore Jared can do the work in 4/3 hours that is 1 1/3 hours.
