You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Using the 68- 95- 99.7 Rule. Assume the resting pulse rates for a sample of individuals are normally distributed with a mean of 70 and a standard deviation of 15. Use the 68- 95- 99.7 rule to find the following quantities.
a. Percentage of pulse rates less than 70
Ans: 50% because 70 is the mean.
-------------------------------------------
c. Percentage of pulse rates between 55 and 70
Ans: (1/2)68 = 34% because 55 is one std below the mean.
---------------------------------------------------
e. Percentage pulse of rates between 70 and 100.
Ans: (1/2)95 = 47.5% because 100 is 2 std above the mean.
