1st) Set up a proportion. Make sure that both ratios/fractions have the same things on top and bottom. If you put miles on the top of one, the other has to have miles on the top as well. **Note: 1/4=0.25

(5 miles)/(1.25hours)=(x miles)/(1 hour))

1.25x=5
