Question 837076: When a mirror is placed on the ground so that the top of a building can bee seen by a person looking toward the building and into the mirror. A person 150 cm tall who is 6 m from the mirror observes the top of the tower when the mirror is 120 m from the tower set up a proportion and find the height of the building.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = height of tower (in cm)

Drawing a picture will lead you to this proportion

150/6 = x/120

150*120 = 6x

18000 = 6x

6x = 18000

x = 18000/6

x = 3000

So the building is 3000 cm tall (or 3000/100 = 30 meters tall)

Note: 30 meters is roughly 98.4252 feet. So this is probably an 8 or 9 story building (each story is roughly 8-10 ft).
