Question 836482: can you help me with this problem please
SOLVE THIS SYSTEM OF LINEAR EQUATION BY GRAPHING:
353 people attend a local play at a private club. Members get tickets for $2.75, while non-members have to pay $6.50. If the total gate for the play came to $1762, how many members and non-members came to the play?
I sent this same word problem in a minute ago without changing the type of problem, sorry and if you could show me exactly how you got the 2 equations to make the graph (like how you put them in slope intercept form) and if you could show me what the graph looks like(like a picture of the graph for this problem). And i know graphing isn't the easiest way to solve this but that's what my teacher ordered.
Once again i need this to be solved by graphing and i would like to see how you did it and the graph that would give me the answer.
Thank you for your time and help with this!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! m+n = 353
2.75m + 6.50n = 1762
We can write n in terms of m (you can use variables x,y if you want) by a little rearranging:
n = -m + 353
n = -(2.75/6.50)m + (1762/6.50)
So the first equation, when graphed in the mn-plane, has slope -1 and n-intercept (0,353). A graph of both equations can be found here:
