substitute x=3-
this means we replace all x's with the number 3:
3%283%5E2%29y%2B2%283%29y%2B5y
which is the same as
3%289%29y%2B2%283%29y%2B5y
which simplifies to
27y%2B6y%2B5y
now replace the y terms with y=2
27%282%29%2B6%282%29%2B5%282%29
which is the same as
54%2B12%2B10
and
54%2B12%2B10=76
so the answer in its simplest form is 72
