You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a bag of mixed vegetables, the ratio of peas to carrots is 7 to 2. How many pieces of each vegetable are in a bag if there is a total of 801 pieces in the bag?
------------------
7:2 is the same as 7x:2x where 7x is peas and 2x is carrots.
EQUATION:
7x+2x = 801 pieces
9x = 801
x = 89
# of peas = 7x = 623
# of carrots = 2x = 178
