Subtract 8 from both sides:
2x-2=sqrt%285x%2B1%29
Now square both sides:
%282x-2%29%5E2=5x%2B1
Expanding the bracket:
4x%5E2-8x%2B4=5x%2B1
Rearrange:
4x%5E2-13x%2B3=0
Now factorise:
%284x-1%29%28x-3%29=0
This gives:
x=1%2F4 or x=3
