You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given the points ( 4 , 2 ) and (7, k ). Find the value of k if the slope of the lin e containing the two
points is 11/6.
--------
Equation:
(k-2)/(7-4) = 11/6
-------
k-2 = 3(11/6)
-------
k-2 = 11/2
------
k = 11/2+4/2
k = 15/2
k = 7.5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. The slope of the line is (k - 2)/(7 - 4), which amounts to (k - 2)/3
2. If the slope is 11/6, then we can write:
11/6 = (k - 2)/3
3. Multiply the equation by 6. We now have:
11 = 2k - 4
4. From the above, 15 = 2k; or k = 7.5
