You can put this solution on YOUR website! two workers X and Y can do a job together in 4 hours. if X alone takes alone 6 hours, then how long will y alone do the job?
-----
Together rate: 1/4 job/hr
X rate: 1/6 job/hr
Y rate: 1/x job/hr
------------
Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/x + 1/6 = 1/4
------
Multiply thru by 12x to get:
12 + 2x = 3x
x = 12 hrs (time for "y" to do the job alone
------------------------------------------------
