If 5/8 of the children in a school are boys, what is the ratio of boys to girls?
If 5/8 of the children are boys then 5 of every 8 children is a boy and 3 of every 8 children is a girl.
Therefore there is 5 boys to every 3 girls.
The ratio of boys to girls is: 5/3
