You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"Complete the course", must be a specific distance, a variable, d, IN ONE DIRECTION.
r is vehicle speed when no current.
c is speed of current.
Also
u=time upsteam, known 6
b=time downstream, known 2

___________________speed___________time______________distance
Upstream___________r-c_____________u_________________d
Downstream_________r+c_____________b_________________d

Your problem description is incomplete. You have three unknown variables: r, c, and d. You can make ONLY TWO equations which are these:

%28r-c%29u=d and %28r%2Bc%29b=d

Do you have more information known?

Distance: highlight_green%283%29 units
C, or current speed = 1 – ˝, or highlight_green%281%2F2%29 of a unit
You can do the check!!
