Question 829713: In triangle MNO, m∠M is equal to m∠N, and m∠O is 5 more than three times m∠N. What is the measure of each angle?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! How many degrees in a triangle? 180
We're given the following: M = N; O = 3N + 5
The three angles together = 180.  M + N + O = 180
Substitute the values we're given.
N (remember, M=N) + N + (3N+5) = 180
Add the Ns
N+N+3N+5 = 180
5N + 5 = 180
Subtract 5 from each side.
5N = 180 - 5, or 175
Divide each side by 5.
N = 175 / 5, or 35
.
Let's plug it back in to make certain.
Angle M 35 + Angle N 35 + Angle O ([3*35]+5) = 180
35+35+110 does indeed equal 180.
