y=-2/3 x+1
y=-3/2 x+1 Answer by checkley75(3666) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! TO GRAPH THESE EQUATIONS YOU ALREADY HAVE THE Y INTERCEPT (0,1) FOR BOTH EQUATIONS.
NOW SET Y=0 & SOLVE FOR X IN EACH EQUATION TO FIND THE X INTERCEPT.
0=-2/3X+1
-2/3X=-1
X=-1*-3/2
X=3/2 OR X=1.5 THUS THE X INTERCEPT HERE IS (1.5,0)
-----------------------------------------------------
0=-3/2X+1
-3/2X=-1
X=-1*-2/3
X=2/3 THUS THE X INTERCEPT HERE IS (2/3,0)
-----------------------------------------------------------
NOW PLOT THESE 2 LINES
Y=-2/3X+1 (RED LINE)
Y=-3/2X+1 (GREEN LINE) (graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions y = -2x/3 +1 and y = -3x/2 +1).
