You can put this solution on YOUR website! Can someone please help me with this one?
Complete the ordered pairs for the equation 2x + y = 10.
(5, ), ( , 10), ( , –2), (0, )
ok, in an ordered pair the first value is always x value, and second is y value
so in the first one x=5, thus you have to get y to one side of the equation by itself, you do so by subtracting 2x from both sides
so 2x-2x+y=10-2x then
y=10-2x but we already know that x=5, thus y=10-2(5)=10-10=0
so your first pair is (5,0) because when x=5, y=0
**********************************************************
next one is opposite, you have y=10 you have to find x
so 2x=10-y=10-10=0
then x=0
so second pair is (0,10)
************************************************************
y=-2
then 2x=10-(-2)=10+2=12
so 2x=12
divide both sides by 2 so you can get x by itself and you get
x=6 so next pair is (6,-2)
***********************************************************
the last one is x=0
then 2(0)+y=10 anything times 0 is 0 so
y=10
(0,10)
good luck
