Question 828693: Hello,
Could you help me solve this logarithmic equation using property of equality?
ln(5x-6) = ln(6) - ln(x-1)
Thank you so much !!
Answer by TimothyLamb(4379) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! ---
ln(5x-6) = ln(6) - ln(x-1)
ln(5x-6) = ln(6/(x-1))
e^( ln(5x-6) ) = e^( ln(6/(x-1)) )
(5x-6) = 6/(x-1)
(5x-6)(x-1) = 6
5xx - 5x - 6x + 6 = 6
5xx - 11x = 0
---
the above quadratic equation is in standard form, with a=5, b=-11, and c=0
