Question 828355: I am trying to find a leg length of a right 30-60-90 triangle. The shortest leg is y, longest leg is 4, and the hypotenuse is unknown. I am trying to find what Y would equal by finding what x value makes +x+sqrt+%283%29+=+4+ true. I just do not know if I square both sides I should get 3x%5E2=16 or 3x=16. Thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I am trying to find a leg length of a right 30-60-90 triangle. The shortest leg is y, longest leg is 4, and the hypotenuse is unknown.
---------------
Hypotenuse = 2y
y%5E2+%2B+4%5E2+=+%282y%29%5E2+=+4y%5E2
3y%5E2+=+16
y+=+4sqrt%283%29%2F3 (short leg)
8sqrt%283%29%2F3%29 is the long leg
