You likely mean this function: f%28x%29+=+%28x-1%29%2F%28x-2%29.

Note what happens as x tends to either plus or minus infinity; what happens to f? The subtraction of 1 and 2, respectively in numerator and denominator become increasingly relatively insignificant, and f approaches 1.
