y = 5500ln(9t+4)
If t = 4.5:
y = 5500ln(9(4.5)+4)
Simplifying...
y = 5500ln(40.5+4)
y = 5500ln(44.5)
y = 5500*3.7955 (rounded to 4 places)
y = 20875.25
So there will be approximately 20900 mowers sold after 4.5 years.

  • ... and your calculator does not have a "log" button either, then use another calculator. Some options are:
    • An online calculator. For example, Google has one. Just do a Google search on "online calculator" and it will show you a calculator (and a list of other available online calculators).
