Question 825374: How do I find the value of y so that the line goes the through the points (-2,y) and (4,-5) and has a slope of -7/6. I already did the y=(y2-y1) over (x2-x1) but I can't multiply both sides by 6/7 to make the slope 1. Please help!!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! find the value of y so that the line goes the through the points (-2,y) and
(4,-5) and has a slope of -7/6.
----
Since slope = -7/6, y increases by 7 when x decreases by 6.
Since the line passes thru (4,-5) it must pass thru (4-6,-5+7) = (-2,2)
-----
Answer: y = 2
