Question 82519: Mary has 70 coins, all quaters and dimes. Ther are 30 more quarters than dimes. Find how many of each she has. Answer by 303795(602) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Mary has 30 more quarters than dimes and 70 coins in total. If you take 30 from the 70 you get a result of 40. Half of those must be quarters and the other half must be dimes.ie 20 of each. The total number of quarters is this 20 plus the extra 30 ie 50 quarters and 20 dimes.
